Playground
Surface Material
When installed at proper depths, loose fill type materials
have acceptable shock absorbing properties. Expanded shale
aggregates are lightweight, low-density loose fill materials
that make an excellent surface under playground equipment.
It is a loose, free draining granular material that won’t
shrink or compact into a hard surface, so it retains its
ability to absorb |

| shock from falls.
It will not decompose and doesn’t provide nutrients that
would encourage microbial growth. It is free of insects,
weeds, diseases and other soil borne pathogens. |

Lightweight Fill Material / Drainage Fill
Utelite E-Soil® Lightweight Fills are approximately half the weight
of common fills. This advantage, coupled with its high internal
friction angle, can reduce lateral forces by more than 50%. It has
been effectively used to solve numerous geotechnical engineering
problems, and to convert unstable soil into usable land. Utelite
E-Soil® Lightweight Fills perform well as granular drainage media in
rooftop gardens and as lightweight drainage fill in retaining wall

Infield Conditioner
The Infield Conditioner is a fully calcined soil conditioner
for infields and warning tracks. The Infield Conditioner
absorbs water quickly reducing rain delays, mixes evenly
with all soils, fluffs-up quickly between games, decreases
wind erosion, provides even surface for predictable bounce,
won’t deteriorate over time or with chemicals. |

Pavers
Utelite E-Soil® Paver Fines are used in place of sand when
installing pavers or decorative stepping stones. When used as a
bedding or joint sand, Paver Fines provide a stable, solid surface
that will not collapse or wash away over time. It limits the amount
of damage created by ants and other burrowing insects. Paver Fines
absorb conditioners and sealers better than regular sand. To get the
maximum beauty and longevity out of your patio, driveway or walkway,
use Paver Fines.
Nursery/Greenhouse Mixes
Utelite E-Soil® products are often used to create growing mixes in
nurseries and greenhouses. The addition of Utelite E-Soil® products
increases drainage and aeration, or provides stability to large
